Navin C. Nanda, MD, professor of medicine and director of the Heart Station and Echocardiography Laboratories, recently received multiple awards for his work.
Dr. Nanda received the highest honor of the Hungarian Society of Cardiology during its May 7 scientific congress in Balatonfüred. The Pro Merito medal is awarded for significant contributions to the nation in the field of echocardiology.
On June 12 the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin awarded Dr. Nanda the 2009 Distinguished Physician Award at its annual meeting. In addition, the North American Section of the International Academy of Cardiovascular Sciences appointed Dr. Nanda to a 3-year term as president, and the International Congress on Geriatric Cardiology and Noninvasive Cardiac Imaging, held in Tyumen, Russia, named him as president.
