Joiner Joins Obstetrics and Gynecology

Dr. JoinerProfessor and Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology Chair John C. Hauth, MD, announces the appointment of Laura Lee Rihl Joiner, MD, as assistant professor in the Division of Women’s Reproductive Healthcare.

A graduate of Medical College of Georgia, she also holds a bachelor’s degree from Sweet Briar College, where she was valedictorian.

Dr. Joiner, who served in the US Army Medical Corps and attained the rank of major, served as staff physician and gynecological section chief at Reynolds Army Community Hospital, Fort Sill, Oklahoma. She also served at the 31st Combat Support Hospital, Baghdad, Iraq. She was named Outstanding OB/GYN graduate at the San Antonio, Texas, Uniformed Services Health Education Consortium and also received the Medical Student Teaching award for PGY-4 class, Outstanding Chief Resident in Obstetrics, and Outstanding Administrative Chief Resident.

Dr. Joiner’s publications include “External cephalic version of the term breech baboon (Papio sp.) fetus,” in the Journal of Medical Primatology, and “Establishing institutional FSH values as a predictor of IVF success,” in the Journal of Military Medicine.
