UAB Professor and Director of the Division of Cardiovascular Disease, Robert C. Bourge, MD, announces the appointment of Frank F. Seghatol, MD, as assistant professor of medicine.
Dr. Seghatol received a MD degree with distinction from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles in Brussels, Belgium, and completed an internal medicine internship and residency at St. John and Brooklyn Jewish Hospital and Medical Centers in Brooklyn, New York.
He continued his postgraduate training at Providence Hospital and Medical Center, Southfield, Michigan, where he served as a cardiology fellow, followed by a research fellowship in echocardiography at Northwestern University Memorial Hospital, Chicago, Illinois.
Prior to joining the faculty at UAB, he practiced cardiology at Beaujon Hospital in Clichy, France and Tenon Hospital in Paris, France.
Clinical Interests His clinical interests center on heart failure, valvular and coronary diseases, and how new echocardiographic techniques can help to better delineate heart diseases.
