UAB Synopsis, Vol. 26, No. 2, January 22, 2007
The UAB Lung Health Center (LHC), under the guidance of Director William C. Bailey, MD, and Assistant Director Lynn B. Gerald, PhD, now resides in new facilities in the basement of the Old Hillman Building and the first floor of Faculty Office Towers.
The UAB LHC provides education to patients, their families, and the community while conducting research related to prevention and management of lung diseases.
The new space allows separate clinical research facilities, as well as reception areas and staff offices, for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease and asthma studies. “With our new facilities we are ready to assist faculty from other departments and divisions in conducting their clinical research,” says Mark T. Dransfield, MD, assistant professor in the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine.
