Gyn cancer support groups are designed for women with gynecologic cancers, their families, friends and loved ones, and the professionals who treat them.
We recognize that, in addition to excellent medical care, there is a deep need for emotional, spiritual, and education support when faced with the challenge of a life – threatening illness. Therefore our goals are:
- To provide opportunities to learn about gynecologic disease, its treatment, and research being done.
- To create a setting in which patients can offer one another emotional and spiritual help.
- To make it possible for patients and professionals to interact in informal settings outside of the clinic.
- To attend national advocacy meetings, local events that support gyn cancer, and promote Gynecological Cancer Awareness Month.

Honor your mother over Mother's Day weekend by participating in MOTHERWALK.
What: A family-friendly 3.5 mile walk through the Mountain Brook Villages to benefit UAB GYN Oncology Research.
When and Where: Saturday, May 12, 2007, at 9:00 a.m., at the teal arch in Crestline Village. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m. You can also register at www.nlovca.org.
