Do you have an interest in working in a Hospital setting or learning more about hospitals? Do you want to meet other teens while helping others? If so, the Teen Volunteer Program is exactly for you. The Teen Volunteer Program (TAV) is a summer program running from June to early August and gives teens the opportunity to do something meaningful with their summer and also experience many exciting careers in healthcare. Not only do the volunteers get to work in many areas of UAB Hospital, they also have tours and presentations that will highlight different opportunities in healthcare. The teens will get to interact with many other students from all over the Birmingham area and make many new friends.

You will need to apply early to ensure your place in the program. Orientation is required and will be held the first week in June. We ask that all students complete 80 hours and those that complete over 100 hours will receive a special award. Please make sure that you will be able to fulfill this commitment. Volunteers usually come two days a week for an eight hours a day. A uniform is required and can be purchased through Volunteer Services.
Please contact Volunteer Services if you have any questions or download the application and forms for the Teen Volunteer Program.
