The Families and Adolescents with Diabetes Project is a major NIH research study of Adolescents and their families that is funded by the National Institute of Nursing Research of the National Institute of Health. We are interested in adolescents with insulin dependent diabetes mellitus and their families. We would like to understand how families with adolescents function when the adolescent has a chronic illness like diabetes, and how the adolescent develops and takes care of his or her health.
