Hematology/Oncology Clinic

Physicians in the Hematology/Oncology Clinic use the most advanced methods available to treat blood disorders and cancer in adults. Specialties include treatment of leukemia, lymphoma, colon cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer, and melanoma. In addition, physicians providing care in this clinic have established a nationally recognized program in bone marrow transplantation.

  • bone marrow transplant service with a 21-bed, state-of-the-art, inpatient unit
  • treatment of leukemia and lymphoma, breast cancer, lung cancer, and melanoma

  • consultations on any type of cancer of hematologic disease

  • clinical research as a participant in the multi-institutional programs of the Cancer and Leukemia Group B Study Group
A key component with this clinic is the UAB Comprehensive Cancer Center which is one of only 20 nationally designated centers for the treatment of cancer and one of the first 11 centers funded by the National Cancer Institute. It also meets the rigorous criteria set by the National Cancer Advisory Board. These criteria ensure high quality patient care, education, and research.
