The Residency in Pharmacy Practice is a one year post-graduate program accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists. The program provides a structured learning environment for the resident to improve skills in all aspects of pharmacy practice, but allows ample flexibility for the resident to pursue subjects of personal interest.
PURPOSE OF THE PROGRAM
Graduates of this Pharmacy Practice Residency program are competent and confident practitioners, able to provide pharmaceutical care to patients in a variety of environments. They assume personal responsibility for achieving optimal drug therapy outcomes by identifying, resolving and preventing drug-related problems. They use appropriate communication skills when educating patients, their families, and other health care professionals about drug therapy. They demonstrate leadership by following a personal philosophy of practice, monitoring their performance, and exhibiting commitment to the institution and the profession.
