Lungs and Breathing (Pulmonary and Critical Care)

A Nationally Ranked Respiratory Disorders Program

America's Best Hospitals

At UAB, when we speak of our nationally ranked respiratory disorders program, it would be more complete to point out that comprehensive clinical treatment of all respiratory, pulmonary vascular, and allergic disorders is provided by the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy, and Critical Care Medicine within the Department of Medicine. The Division also directs the Hohenberg Critical Care Unit, UAB's Medical Intensive Care Unit, and provides consultation services for all intensive care units at UAB.

Pulmonary Clinic is located on the fourth floor of The Kirklin Clinic. One of the greatest advantages that Kirklin Clinic has is the presence of general practitioners and specialists from all fields. This unique mix of disciplines makes it easy for physicians to collaborate on diagnoses and treatments. This interdisciplinary approach is just one of the reasons UAB can claim a nationally ranked respiratory disorders program.
