The Nuclear Cardiology Service line provides inpatient and outpatient services. It is recognized at the local, national and international levels as a center of excellence in providing the highest quality patient care, teaching and research. We have written, in a way, the textbook in this field. What makes the service line unique, besides the name recognition, is a combined experience of over one century, a highly qualified dedicated support system, up-to date hardware and software, attention to details selecting the most appropriate test to meet the needs of the individual patient and the variety of stress tests and imaging protocols. Finally we pride ourselves being responsive to patients' and physicians' needs by having the shortest possible delays between request time to actual study time and fastest possible time between completions of study to communication of results. The results are conveyed in a manner that enhances patient care because we understand the reasons and expectations of performing these studies and we leave no room for ambiguity. We evaluate patients with a variety of known or suspected cardiac ailments including coronary heart disease, diabetes, hypertension, heart failure, including those who have had prior heart attacks, stents or bypass surgery, patients with rhythm problems, patients scheduled for a major non-cardiac surgery and patients presenting to the emergency department with chest pains; just to mention a few examples.
