Financial Clearance and Counseling

NCO Patient Advocacy Liaisons provide inpatient and outpatient financial counseling and assistance services for the UAB Hospital and most UAHSF (Physician) clinics. Services primarily include determining patient eligibility for discounted services based on financial need, to include assistance with eligibilty for qualifying assistance programs.

NCO Patient Advocacy Liaisons are located on the second floor of The Kirklin Clinic, in The Kirklin Clinic Business Office, as well as within the UAB Hospitals to assist patients as needed.

All non-insured patients are required to make payment in full at time of service unless the patient has been approved or cleared through UAHSF MSO Financial Clearance for alternate payment arrangements.

If a patient has been financially cleared through the UAHSF MSO Financial Clearance office, the patient must present at physician's office front-desk with a financial clearance card or form.  Non-insured patients who present to a clinic for check-in without one of the above mentioned documents will be asked to present to the UAHSF MSO Financial Clearance office prior to being seen.
