Overcoming infertility requires a thoughtful evaluation,
sophisticated reproductive technology, and medical
experts with advanced training. UAB’s fertility clinic has
four women’s specialists board-certified in reproductive
endocrinology and infertility—more than any other clinic
in the state. The center maintains a sperm bank and
andrology and embryology laboratories accredited by the
College of American Pathologists and the American
Society for Reproductive Medicine.
TREATMENTS FOR WOMEN INCLUDE
assisted reproductive technology, including in vitro
fertilization, gamete intrafallopian transfer, assisted
embryo hatching, and embryo cryopreservation;
egg donation;
operative laparoscopy for treatment of endometriosis,
pelvic adhesions, or tubal occlusion;
microsurgical reversal of tubal ligation;
treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome and other ovu-lation
disorders with clomiphene, gonadotrophins, and
insulin-sensitizing agents; and
intrauterine insemination with spouse or donor sperm.
