Dr. Michael A. Moore is a graduate of Auburn University, where he completed
his undergraduate studies before enrolling in the University of Alabama School
of Medicine in 1976. He graduated cum laude from UASOM in 1980, did his internship
and residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospitals and spent
a year as a Chief Medical Resident at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton. In 1984
he joined the Bessemer Clinic, P.C. and has practiced in Bessemer since that
time.
His professional interests include primary care internal medicine with an emphasis
on preventive medicine.
Dr. Moore has continued his involvement in and commitment to medical education
as the Associate Program Director for the Baptist Health System Internal Medicine
and Transitional Year Residency Programs; by serving as a preceptor for UAB
Internal Medicine Residents in his practice and in a local nursing home; and
by teaching medical students from UAB during their Introduction to Clinical
Medicine.
Dr. Moore is a member of the American Medical Association; the American College
of Physicians; the Society of General Internal Medicine; and the Birmingham
Society of Internists. He has served on a variety of hospital committees as
well as Chairman of the Department of Medicine in the past.
Married to the former Stephanie Colpack from Bessemer, Dr. Moore and his wife
have two children. They are active in their church as well as in numerous community
and professional organizations.
