Jahraus Joins Radiation Oncology

Dr. JahrausUAB Department of Radiation Oncology Chair James A. Bonner, MD announces the appointment of Christopher D. Jahraus, MD, as assistant professor.

After receiving a bachelor of science degree in biology from Bethel College in St. Paul, Minnesota, Dr. Jahraus completed his MD degree at the School of Medicine at UAB.

His postgraduate training includes an internship in pediatrics at Washington University School of Medicine/St. Louis Children’s Hospital, and a radiation oncology residency at the University of Kentucky.

Dr. Jahraus’ clinical interests include radiation therapy for pediatric and gastrointestinal malignancies. His research is directed at finding new ways to improve quality of life and ameliorate normal tissue toxicity during radiation treatment.
